Porcelain Crowns in Kansas City

The crown is the hard enamel outer shell of the tooth.  It protects, seals and strengthens the other softer more vulnerable structures of the tooth.  Enamel cannot repair itself and when damaged from decay or injury may have to be replaced.  When enough of the enamel is compromised, then a new porcelain crown is required.  The new porcelain crown fits over the entire portion of the tooth remaining above the gumline and can look and function just like a natural tooth.

Crowns can be necessary when a tooth has broken, has a large failing restoration, or has had a root canal.  Crowns are made from dental porcelain and are able to reproduce the appearance and functionality of a natural tooth.  In some instances a partial crown is used when only a portion of the existing tooth may need to be replaced.  This allows for the preservation of undamaged and otherwise strong tooth structure.

We use state of the art technology in this process to ensure the ideal fit and compliment to your surrounding teeth. We will discuss and explain treatment options that are right for your individual circumstance including crowns, partial crowns or even a dental implant."

State-Of-The-Art Tooth Restorations

We specialize in porcelain crowns as they offer outstanding aesthetics as well as durability. Porcelain crowns do not contain metal and are the most life-like restoration available in dentistry.  This is beneficial for people who have may have metal allergies and are superior for ongoing maintenance.  (Porcelain crowns allow the same xray observation as a natural tooth.)

Here’s What To Expect:

  1. First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Bruso to review your oral health condition to decide if a porcelain crown is your best option.

  2. Next, we may take an X-ray or scan to see the anatomy of your tooth and jaw.  If a permanent crown is needed, Dr. Bruso will prepare the tooth, scan the prepared tooth and place a temporary restoration.

  3. Finally, you will visit the office again within a few weeks so that Dr. Bruso can place your permanent crown.
